Wondering if anybody could help with input and perspective on the U.S. consumer market for wood chipper/shredders? Or could you point me to some people who might know this market?

I’m with SBI (Specialists in Business Information) http://www.sbireports.com, and am working on a report on outdoor power equipment, focusing on the chipper/shredder category.
I’m trying to determine:

What are the key trends in the industry in terms of product and marketing? Are homeowners buying these products more frequently or is it a small segment of the population buying? Do consumers mainly buy in mass home centers/mass merchandisers or dealers, specialty and hardware stores? What is the size of the consumer market?
