How Are Handmade Products From the Far East Actually Put Together?

In the Far East side of the Earth, most sellers take pride in whatever product they are selling. Millions of goods that are sold in this part of the globe are hand-crafted by extremely talented and devoted individuals. The amount of work that is put into each product is absolutely fascinating. For example, there are lots of individuals who make handmade Asian dolls to sell to tourists who visit. Another example would be Asian dinnerware pieces that are made with very ornate and elaborate designs all stitched by hand on them. These dresses are made all the time for natives and for tourists who choose to buy one or a few home with them. Below is an ordered list of things that are done to get the handmade products finished:

1. First, the products, such as an unpainted mask for Chinese New Year, or the material for the cloth is given to the artist so they can begin to do create their masterpiece. This is when the base coat is put onto the product, if it is a product that requires paint, like plates or teapots. If the product is a clothing item, this is the point where the maker contemplates what he/she will design with the materials given to or requested by whoever is making the garment.

2. Second, the person making the product must wait until the paint is dry, if it is a hand-painted product, or take a break from sewing if it is a piece of cloth that is in the process of being created. This can take a few days depending on what the item actually is. If it is made out of clay, then it may take longer than a few days because the item would have to be placed in a kiln to assist the clay and base coat of paint solidify.

3. Third, the item needs to have a second coat of paint, with more paint to either correct any errors, deepen the color, or continue with the smaller parts of the product, like an eye on a mask, for example. Then the item, if made of clay, would go back into the kiln after the finishing touches to make sure the new paint put on stays. For a product that is cloth, this is when the sewing and/or stitching of the item is usually done.

4. Finally, for a painted item, the clear paint overcoat is put on, again to make sure the original paint does not fade or get chipped away. If the item is a garment, this is when the item is made into whatever it is supposed to be at the manufacturers to become a shirt, dress, skirt, etc. The benefit of hand-crafted products are that they are truly one-of-a-kind items. Also, you can always see the amount of hard work that was put into the good you purchase. The individuals who create these items are making pieces of art even though the designs are not put onto a traditional canvas. If you have the opportunity to buy a hand-crafted item, it is almost always worth the extra money to own something that has a lot of work in it and something that truly is a masterpiece.
