First of all let’s take a look at some of the things that are the same.

Both wood chipping machines come with a residential warranty and a commercial warranty. Both wood chippers have a chipping cone through which branches can be fed into the chipper. Obviously, the gas machine uses gas and the other electricity. The electric wood chipper powers with 120 V, 60 Hz, 1pH and 13 amps. The electric engine is made by AO Smith. The 9 hp wood chipper power head is a Honda for a powerful and quiet operation. Many homeowners prefer the electric model for its convenience and hassle free fuel supply. A consideration should be where on the property the machine will be used since a remote location on a large property would require a very long power cord but is easy to accommodate with the 9 hp machine.

In the shredder hopper, the 9 hp produces two times the capability with up to 1 inch diameter branches for shredding compared with 1/2″ capacity on the electric wood chipper.

The electric wood chipper weighs 95 pounds which is less than 70% the weight of the 9 hp which weighs in at 140 lbs.

The electric wood chipper comes with a two-year residential warranty and a 90 day commercial warranty whereas the gas model has a three-year residential warranty and a 180 day commercial warranty.

The electric wood chipper has an optional vacuum Kit which is suitable for cleaning up leaves around shrubs and flower beds.
